“This is a special show” says series director, Mark Morgan, “both Nicolas and Jerry appeared with us as opening acts, and we were so impressed by their talent that we decided we wanted them back as headliners.” Nicolas Emden is a talented multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer, and songwriter, hailing from Chilean Patagonia. His music navigates the waters of pop, rock, and South American folk, creating a distinctive South Americana indie folk rock sound, with evocative Spanish lyrics. He will be appearing with his duo for this show. Jerry Martinez has been active in the local (and not so local) music scene for over 4 decades. He is a songwriter, guitarist, and singer steeped in the Americana, Singer/Songwriter, Blues, and Folk traditions. Over the years he has developed a unique synthesis of these art-forms and blended them into a powerful writing style that aims for the heart. Jerry’s vocals, described as “soulful and powerful”, drive home the often poignant messages in his songs. “Jerry did some of the most amazing guitar playing I’d heard in a long time,” says Morgan, ‘its definitely not something to be missed!”

The show takes place at Clark Hall at Hancock Church, 1912 Massachusetts Ave in Lexington. Tickets are $25 or “pay what you can” and are available at harmonyonthegreen.org. Free parking is available in the rear of the church. The church is handicap accessible, and assisted listening devices are available. Free beverages and homebaked baked goods will be served.
