Come sing with us for Christmas! We have openings for all parts, with no auditions. You can sing one of our special services or for the whole season. Everyone 9th grade to adult is invited–you need not be a church member or even part of our faith tradition! You just need an interest in making and sharing great choral music.
Our rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. and we sing most Sundays at 10:00 a.m. plus our 5:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service. On Sunday Dec 6th we will be joined by a chamber orchestra as we sing music by Gustav Holst as well as our big Manger Procession of carols. Our 20+ voice choir sings a wide range of quality choral literature from chant to contemporary, renaissance motets to rousing gospel, and everything in between!
We have a world class organist (Ian Watson, Associate Director of the Handel and Haydn Society) and the choir is directed by Director of Music Mark Morgan (a 40 year church musician veteran, singer, and former Artistic Director of New England Light Opera).
It’s a great community of progressive, LGBTQ+ welcoming folks doing great work in the world. Come sing with us! Just shoot an e-mail to Mark at mark.morgan@hancockchurch.org and we’ll get you all the info you need.
